Baby, It’s cold outside

A career is wonderful, but you can’t curl up with it on a cold night.

When one moves from Connecticut to South Carolina, they typically get rid of their cold weather gear. At least that’s what we did. Why would we ever need our winter coats when living in a sub-tropical climate? Yeah, bad plan.

How about when one spontaneously orders a recreational vehicle. During a pandemic. When inventory is non-existent and supply chains are limited. And the RV won’t be delivered until December. In Iowa.

Off to The North Face store in Hilton Head! How a North Face store can survive in a sub-tropical climate is a story for another day. As luck would have it, The North Face is having a rare 50% off post-Christmas sale today. Score!

With our newly acquired parkas, we’re now feeling a bit more comfortable about braving our journey that begins in just two days! Especially, since we were notified a couple of days ago that they were under a blizzard warning. I don’t think that materialized, but the wind chill temperatures did drop to negative 26!

Parkas, hats, gloves, scarves, thermals. I think we’re ready!
